It's no secret that CEO compensation/benefits packages can be a touchy subject in credit unions. Boards of directors that begin to examine the issue may soon find themselves in a minefield of questions: What's fair to the CEO? What are we up against in the competitive marketplace? Can our credit union afford to do this? Can we afford not to?
Then there are those questions of an emotional nature, and thus potentially more explosive, even though they may remain unspoken: Why is this person making so much more than I am?
