Article: Analysis finds shifting economy will lead to growth in Preston County

KINGWOOD - According to an economic analysis by West Virginia University, Preston County is poised for growth in the next five years.

Leading that expansion, analysts say, is a shift from dependence upon coal to a more varied economy emphasizing manufacturing and the timber industry.

Another factor will be a new federal prison to be built in the county near Bruceton Mills.
