ABSTRACT. This study compared the teaching effectiveness and outcomes of the feedback lecture approach (as described by Osterman) with the traditional lecture method for occupational therapist students and physical therapist students enrolled in a neurology medicine class. Thirty-six first-year students who volunteered to participate were randomly assigned to either an experimental (feedback lecture) group or a control (traditional lecture) group. The traditional lecture group was given a reading assignment to complete prior to the lecture and attended an 80-minute lecture on traumatic brain injuries.
