Article: Ko on the go: Orange Coast gets sister publication

Orange County Woman will hit news racks and doorsteps this week as publisher Ruth Ko launches an extension of her 23-year-old monthly Orange Coast magazine.

Orange County Woman is also slated for a monthly schedule, but the new entry will distribute 50,000 copies free via 150 racks around OC and by delivery to homes in targeted zip codes. The magazine is a bid to carve a specialty niche among upscale female readers locally, and could be the forerunner of two more brand extensions for Orange Coast, according to Ko, who has claimed trademarks--but so far has laid no further groundwork--for two more titles: Orange County Kids and Orange County Man.
