Article: New trade office will bridge gap between West Virginia, Taiwan

CHARLESTON -- When James Chu was named director of West Virginia's Taiwanese Trade Office earlier this year, he knew that he would have a number of challenges before him.

After all, he has been given the mission of recruiting Taiwanese businesses to invest in West Virginia, while at the same time developing export opportunities for state companies in his adopted homeland.

But Chu said bridging the gap between Taiwan and West Virginia should not be difficult and once both sides see what the other has to offer, a strong relationship can be established.
