Cancer Patient Care of Spokane County, a nonprofit agency that provides financial assistance and services to low-income people who have cancer, plans to raise start-up funds to open a Seattle-area office.

Between $250,000 and $300,000 is needed to open the office, says Sheryl McGrath, the organization's executive director. "We would like 18 months of operation funded before we open the office," she says.
