Name any significant business development that has occurred in West Virginia in recent memory and they each have a common thread that runs through them -- the involvement of the West Virginia Development Office headed by Tom Burns.
Charged with the broad mission of improving the quality of life for all West Virginians, the Development Office has taken a number of steps toward that goal since Bums was named its director in March 1995.
Coming to the position from a career in private industry, Burns says he has focused on building partnerships and pulling people to work together for the overall economic well-being of West Virginia.
