FAIRMONT -- Aegis Communication Group Inc. announced Feb. 19 it will be adding more than 500 positions to its staff.
With hiring to start in mid-March, Aegis soon will bring its work force to more than 1,000 and will become Marion County's largest employer.
An employer of about 520 now and anchored in the well-established 112,000-square-foot Fairhills Plaza in the Bellview area of Fairmont, this call center has undergone dramatic changes in the few short years it has been in operation.
Aegis' predecessor, Edward Blank, announced on Dec. 6, 1996, that it was planning to move into the plaza.
