Aspen, Colo. - Tacrolimus tops a list of new treatment options available for patients suffering from atopic dermatitis, Erik O. Gilbertson, M.D., said at the H&H Dermatology Seminar.
"(Atopic dermatitis) is a complex, multifactorial disease that affects different ages and involves environmental and immunological factors," Dr. Gilbertson said. "And new agents are now available for dermatologists to try on patients with atopic dermatitis."
Dr. Gilbertson highlighted the new treatment options by breaking them into two categories: topical and systemic.
