"POWER TO THE PEOPLE!"

Okay, so maybe that's an outdated slogan. But "power to the computers" just doesn't have much ring to it. Even so, computers and other electronic devices do need power. Without that stream of electricity we too easily take for granted, little work could be accomplished. At the same time, interruptions or inconsistencies in electrical power can cause major problems.

"Virtually every piece of equipment in today's office is microprocessor-based electronics," says Bud Syme, manager of the office machine division for Panamax. "By nature, this equipment is extremely sensitive and therefore susceptible to vagaries in power."
