Article: Another sustainable development 'sermon on the mount'

First of all, this article is not directed at the general public where a modicum of tact is required. This is a sermon directed to the choir - to the minerals industry itself. However, the tone of my little homily will be a function of how you react to the following statement.

Sustainable development in the minerals industry is an oxymoron! Dramatic pause . . . make that a very dramatic pause . . .

Do you agree with the statement above and think sustainable development is just a bunch of worthless touchy-feely self-righteous do-gooderism #@!% invented by academics, politicians and NGOs that do not like us? Then I think it best to borrow a little catch phrase adopted within Cleveland-Cliffs ...
