Photo exhibit highlights Arab American culture in Detroit area.

The impact and contributions made by Arab immigrants in the Detroit area over the last century are the subject of a photographic exhibit at the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History in Washington, D.C.

The exhibit, entitled, "Arab Americans in Greater Detroit: A Community Between Two Worlds", opened in November and will run until March 31.

The exhibit consists of 58 historical and contemporary photos drawn from family albums and the work of professional photographers. The photos tell the story of the on- going migration and assimilation of Arabs since the 1880s in Greater Detroit.
