There is a strong feeling in the Middle East nowadays that what is seen and heard doesn't necessarily reflect reality. The situation has taken on the characteristics of a virtual-reality game, where imagination is let loose and fantasy reigns supreme.

Take, for example, what happened in Texas just the other day. Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Abdullah and US President George W. Bush agreed to "a division of labor" in the region between themselves. But what "labor" are we talking about here? Is there a blue-print for what the US and Saudi Arabia are planning to do? No one has answers to these questions, least of all Bush and Abdullah.
