To Tell The Truth: Motivation, pride, preparation, strength=Black men

Last year was filled with negative stories about the plight of the Black man. Black men are negatively portrayed in news stories about penal institution statistics, crime, drug abuse, etc. I know that you are as sick and tired of the constant negativism as I am.

For me, it is important that my first column of the new year be dedicated to the positive actions of Black men.

As we welcome in 2001, it is overwhelmingly important we discuss those Black men who have exhibited enthusiasm and courage. They have shown or will show they possess what it takes to ascend to positions of importance and power in Pittsburgh and Allegheny ...
