Bill's Book: Yes, one vote can make the difference
Once a year, I feel compelled to urge residents of the 19th Legislative District to register to vote, and then to get out during the primary and general elections and actually vote. Of course, I'm not alone in this endeavor--as we get closer to elections, every civic group, high school history teacher, politician and hundreds of radio and TV ads will be urging you to vote, as well. They will be offering some very good reasons.
Still, voting rates across the United States, and particularly within some groups, remain abysmally low. Few of us who treasure the right to vote--and who remember that thousands of our ancestors fought and died to ...
