Student Fights For Academic Life At IUP.

Although college classes may be over for the summer, one student is still fighting for her academic life.

Kelly Jackson, 21, a student at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, has filed a lawsuit with the Pennsylvania Appellate Court to be reinstated at the school. Jackson was suspended for a year-and-a-half by the university judicial system following an altercation that she allegedly has with student Tomecole Hilliard. Hilliard was also suspended from the university.

Her attorney, Shelly J. Todd, stated that Jackson was disciplined "in a manner that violates her due process rights as outlined in Part 17, Chapter 505 of the Pennsylvania Code ...
