The African country of Gambia and the Asian country of Indonesia, with the largest Muslim population in the world, have delivered the first blow against the rising tide of cultural imperialism emanating from the West. The head of state and chairman of the Armed Forces Provisional Ruling Council, Cpt. Yahya A.J.J. Jammeh, implemented a decree that outlaws the sale, use, or possession of bleaching cream, also known as lightening or whitening cream in Africa.
