Grant program to create jobs for North Side residents
Leaders of Pittsburgh's North Side community expressed to the Alcoa Foundation the community's main need was employment, and the foundation quickly responded.
The Alcoa Foundation formed Allegheny Works, a grant program that will not only create quality jobs, but will enhance the North Side's quality of life.
Grants will be awarded to nonprofit organizations whose missions are to develop quality employment opportunities, enhance literacy or provide job training.
Over the next five years, the foundation will invest up to $1 million through nonprofit organizations. Only those organizations located on the North Side with realistic program ...
