Article: Grace offers to pay Libby's asbestos-related medical bills

HELENA - W.R. Grace's recent offer to pay medical bills for any Libby resident or former resident with an asbestosrelated disease does not limit them from suing the former vermiculite mine company, officials said Friday.

"Nobody has to waive any Tights in this thing," said Bill Corcoran, Grace vice president for public and regulatory affairs. "If people want to sue us they can still go right ahead and sue."

Grace, which owned the Libby mine until 1990, unveiled a plan Thursday night to Libby residents attending a community meeting. The proposal would pay medical bills for any person diagnosed with an asbestos-related disease associated with its mine. That includes people who contract an ...
