King, Sharpton lead New York memorial services for James Byrd, Jr.: King gives $100,000 to Byrd family
Because of Don King and Rev. Al Sharpton, a historic moment was recorded when Mamie Till-Mobeley, Moses Stewart and James Byrd Sr., came together at the National Action Network's House of Justice last weekend.
It was 43 years ago that the then Mamie Till, buried her 14-years-old son, Emmett, after he was murdered by a white-robed racist group of klansmen in the state of Mississippi.
