News and Views: The Large and Growing Digital Divide for Black and White College Students
In the United States, the network society is creating two parallel information and communications systems -- one for whites and one for blacks. One would expect that the racial gap would shrink for groups coming from higher socioeconomic groups. But this is not the case. The racial computer access gap prevails for college students.
