The month of July has brought about the starting date of a new state law that will have a significant impact on the lives of all citizens of Ohio. The new law cover criminal sentencing.

The new criminal sentencing law will affect those who committed crimes beginning on July 1st. The law is known as "truth-in-sentencing" because it requires that a judge give a specific amount of years that the convicted criminal would actually do.
