Article: Bass Park Swim Team to Compete in Annual Black History Invitational Swim Meet in Washington D.C.

The City of Port Lauderdale Parks and Recreation Department's Bass Park Swim Team is gearing up for a trip to Washington, D.C. to participate in the 17th Annual Black History Invitational Swim Meet. The meet will take place February 15th and 16th at the Capital East Natatorium in the District of Columbia.

Co-founded by United Black Fund founder, Dr. Calvin W. Rolark, Sr. in conjunction with the D.C. Parks and Recreation Department, the Black History Invitational Meet is a historic two-day swim meet that attracts swimmers from 25 cities across the nation and Virgin Islands.
