At first glance, the book, Therapeutic Recreation in Health Promotion and Rehabilitation, by Drs. John Shank and Cathy Coyle, seems simplistic. This could be due to the easy-to-follow format of the book, the relative slimness of the volume compared to other therapeutic recreation texts, the clearness of the writing style, or the ease in which the authors explain difficult concepts. One might be tempted to say the book does not go into enough depth for a university TR class or to use as a resource in therapeutic recreation practice. At ...
