(SUNNYDALE) An online lobby of former Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans is biting back after the decision to kill off lesbian character Tara shortly after a sex scene with her lover, Willow.

According to Fans of Willow and Tara, Buffy's cult fandom shrank from five million viewers last February to about 3.5 million viewers for recent new episodes.

"Once a TV show based on female empowerment and cutting-edge in its positive depiction of lesbians, Buffy the Vampire Slayer has reversed its message," according to Fans of Willow and Tara spokeswoman Willow Rosenberg.
