The present study follows a number of others on Richard Wagner's music dramas published by Mary Cicora over the past dozen years, beginning with a book "Parsifal" Reception in the "Bayreuther Blatter" (1987) and followed by another, From History to Myth: Wagner's Tannhauser and Its Literary Sources (1992), in addition to a half-dozen articles in scholarly journals. As the bibliography at the end of the present volume informs us, Cicora has another two studies on Wagner forthcoming at the same press ...
