Williams takes over as coach at Michigan State
Nick Saban shocked the college football world when he left Michigan State to take the head coaching job at LSU.
His replacement is an African-American, who had been an assistant coach.
Williams has immediately taken over the Spartan reigns and will lead his team when its meets Florida in the Citrus Bowl on New Year's Day.
"It was very important to have some stability in the program," Williams says. "Any time you can show stability and continuity, that-strengthens from inside and outside. There's a strong bond right now with all the Michigan State community."
