CHARLESTON - Spring is in the air, bringing with it the prospect of a bright future at Capitol Market.

"When the flowers come out, things really pick up," said Shirley Weeks, whose son, Steve, owns The Pretzel Place inside the Charleston market.

The peak months for the market, which specializes in West Virginia food products, are from early April through October. Then, the outside market is open. Usually, the open farmer's vending area outside is filled, Weeks said.
