SUNFLOWER - AquaPro Corp., the only growth-oriented, publicly-traded catfish aquaculture company in the U.S., is about to become more efficient.
In addition to purchasing another catfish pond, the Delta-based public company is in negotiations for its own processing plant, said George Hastings, AquaPro CEO and chairman.
"Catfish farmers face a heck of a challenge to make a profitable business out of aquaculture," said Hastings, a former tax attorney from Nashville who moved to the Delta two years ago.
