Melodies or meat? Just what should Americans fill up on? BY CRAlG BOWRON, M.D.
IT'S A SHAME THAT MANY AMERICANS are more familiar with the Atkins diet than the Chet Atkins diet, which entails listening to one of Chet's finger-pickin', finger-lickin'-good guitar songs before each meal. Rigorous scientific studies performed by myself and assorted friends show that listening to Chet's music cultivates a sense of spiritual and gastrointestinal satiety, and a realization that only great music can fill you up. Caloric intake plummets, and the pounds fall away.
What then is the mainline Robert Atkins diet, and can I, as a physician, recommend it?
