This article focuses on Italian charter tourists' experiences of North Cape. the site considered to be Europe's northernmost spot and the most privileged place for gazing at the Midnight Sun. My aim is to show that tourists' experiences and interpretations of a specific attraction are culturally
shaped and contextually situated. They are developed in relation to worldviews, practices and discourses that belong to the tourists' home-environments and are dependent upon the context in which the encounter takes place.
