Abstract
This study provides a detailed investigation into the lives of three New Zealand junior female physical education students. An interpretive methodology, with associated interview techniques, is used in order to identify, describe and explain themes which characterise the participants' shared experiences, and to show how student perceptions are invaluable to both researchers and the physical education profession. Attention is paid to the ways in which the participants' experiences of school physical education impact upon the future implementation of the new Health and Physical Education in the New Zealand curriculum.
