Black Employees Charge Racism At Pitt Medical Center.
A group of African-American employees in a mostly Black department at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center are blaming the highest levels of management for the racism, they say, has "completely destroyed" their department.
In a letter to Medical Center President Jeffrey A. Romoff, the employees charge: *That the former housekeeping director, who is Black, and three Black managers were terminated "to make room for whites who would have been laid off'; *That the change in management has resulted in "racism and mistreatment" directed against Black employees; *That the Medical Center will not promote an African-American to ...
