Elder fiduciary abuse

GENERAL Elder Abuse Problem The United States Bureau of Census reports that seniors represent the fastest growing segment of the U. S. population. Seniors represent 12 percent of California's population and it is projected that by the year 2000 at least one out of every five Americans (20 percent) will be 60 years of age or older. According to the 1990 census, nine states now have more than one million seniors. California has the largest number, 3.1 million, with Los Angeles County accounting for over one million of the elderly population (Reyes, 1997,9).
