Joint management structures have often been responsible for slow corporate reactions. But Rainer Hertrich doesn't see much of a difference between the management structure of EADS and its competitors, both in Europe and the USA.
The EADS structure is as lean and slim as everybody else's, he maintains. The only difference is that EADS has two CEOs. For the time being, it is believed there is a need for two, as there is a unique integration process to manage, and the needs of the national governments of three countries have to be served - with both a European and a national identity.
