Joined by about 30 protesters, Minister Michael Muhammad Monday marched outside of the Cook County Jail demanding an end ??? the beatings of inmates at the hands of corrections officers.
However, Cook County Jail guards say the media attention given to a group of Sheriff Michael Sheahan's elite Special Operations Response Team (SORT) "who are supposed to protect" the officers has them in a bind and fearful of administrative and legal repercussions.
But, on the other side of the scale of justice were the protesters demanding jail reform and an end to the beatings.
