New publisher tells TV host his vision for Defender

The new publisher of the Chicago Defender, Col. Eugene Scott, appeared recently on the C.R.O.E. (the Coalition for the Remembrance of Elijah) TV talk show "Political Talk" and told host Munir Muhammad that the most important issue the newspaper will address in the next 90 days is jobs for young men and women.

"We are focusing on letting the community know the most important element in this equation is to make opportunities for jobs for young Black people," Scott said of his partnership through the newspaper with the African American community.
