How One Woman Became a Mother
When Jan walked into my office for the first time, she was 38 years old, single, six months pregnant and scared. She had spent the last four years pulling the loose strings of her life together and refocusing her efforts. She had just graduated from college with high honors and was looking forward to teaching high school English. Earlier in the year she met Mr. Wonderful, only he wasn't. He had left her three months before. His parents had hoped that she would be the woman who could straighten out their son and were delighted when she became pregnant. The only reason she was here at all was because a dear friend had strongly urged her to come.
