It is intriguing that an article I wrote for Community Care about child abuse has been rejected, even after much trimming by me of data they found objectionable, on the very day the Government announced its new initiative.
Is it inertia or political correctness that is killing children?
In the space of little more than 30 years there have been more than 30 fatal child abuse reports. Yet we seem no better at preventing them. We wring our hands, we lament, we promise to learn the lessons but we actually do nothing. Will the next 30 years bring another 30 report?
It cannot be denied that these child abuse cases that have culminated in murder have been firmly put on the political agenda, but ...
