Article: Voice-controlled robots aid in plastic surgery

Voice-controlled robots provide significant improvements in some plastic surgical procedures, according to a study presented by Thomas P. Szymula von Richter, Ludwig Maximilians-Universitat, Munchen, Germany, to the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. It examined the effectiveness of one- or two-armed voice-- controlled robots in holding devices or clamping fixtures. It also investigated the effectiveness of threearmed voice-controlled robots, especially during manipulative reconstructive procedures that involved transplanting tissue containing blood vessels to another part of the body.
