Article: Rail line could lure trade

Chambersburg-area officials wanted a new operator for their railroad. But, when they went looking for one, they didn't want a typical railroad company.

They turned to Eyal Shapira, a Massachusetts entrepreneur with a short but impressive track record of rejuvenating small rail systems such as the one serving the Cumberland Valley Business Park in Franklin County.

"No disrespect to the major carriers, but they've been around for a long time, and some of them have become complacent," said John Van Horn, executive director of Letterkenny Industrial Development Authority, which has been developing the business park.
