In June of 1999, Mary Silva took a fateful trip to Maine with her husband. Mary recounts the story with a can-you-believe-it tone usually saved for cosmic miracles and Ann Taylor clearance rack items.

"I went antique hook rug shopping with a woman I had just met on the trip. When I told her how I had always loved rug hooking and wanted to learn the craft, she said her daughter was a great teacher but she lived in a small town in Southern Indiana -- Floyds Knobs. I almost fell out of my chair. It was the same town I had lived in my whole life!"
