High Fuel Prices

I could appreciate the average price of fuel at $1.64 a gallon. I purchase about $19,000 a month and my cash price in California is $1.85.

It is frustrating that our prices are higher on a regular basis. Thanks for the good information in your articles.

In response to Mike Tharp's letter on Freight Rates, 3-1, p. 7:

Good Point. Since deregulation [in 1980 ], pricing has been a runaway train on a collision course. I hope shippers will see that transportation is a vital extension of their businesses and that we should be paid for the services provided.
