CHARLESTON - Trojan Steel Co., a well-established steel fabrication business in Charleston, is relocating to Putnam County and leaving a trail of history behind.
The 73-year-old business located along MacCorkle Avenue will move to Black Betsy, near Poca, next spring.
Dave Wooddell, president and owner of Trojan, said relocation plans were put on hold last year due to industrial complications.
However, problems have ceased and Trojan Steel will be fully operational in Putnam County by April 1, 2001, according to Wooddell.
A mainstay of the area economy since 1927, Trojan Steel has had many incarnations during its existence.
