Article: National Seat Belt Enforcement Mobilization

Seven years and 13 waves of seat belt mobilizations after the first national mobilization in 1997, seat belt use in the United States has increased from 61% to 7%. Fifty million more Americans are now buckled up thanks to the efforts of police, highway patrol, sheriff's departments and other enforcement groups. The next Click it Or Ticket wave of seat belt enforcement is scheduled for May 26-June 6, 2004.

The national mobilizations have gone through several name changes since 1997 beginning with Operation ABC: America Buckles Up Children, then Buckle Up America Mobilization, and now Click It or Ticket Mobilization.
