From deep within his heart, the virtuoso guitarist Bobby Broom, who has achieved international critical acclaim, will honor Wes Montgomery, the fabulous innately creative jazz guitarist on Sunday, March 23 at 3 p.m. at the Harold Washington Library Center, State Street and Congress Pkwy.
The young guitarist Broom embarked upon his career at the age of 16 when he joined Sonny Rollins and Donald Byrd at Carnegie Hall. By 1980, he joined Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers. He also toured and recorded with Rollins and was the featured soloist with Kenny Burrell's The Jazz Guitar Band. He is acclaimed as a virtuoso musician.
