Forensic science isn't just about DNA and hair samples. Investigating latent evidence to solve crimes also can involve scouring computer networks and designing company structures.
West Virginia University's College of Business and Economics has launched the first courses in a new Forensic Accounting and Fraud Investigation program with the help of a $600,000 grant from the National Institute for Justice's Office of Science and Technology in the U.S. Department of Justice.
With that money, the college's Division of Accounting is continuing to design the program after forming a group of national experts to create the curriculum guidelines.
