The Nemours Children's Clinic Cochlear Implant Team created the Cochlear Implant Community Council (CICC) to provide a means to discuss issues of concern about pediatric cochlear implantation. The team recognized a specific need to increase understanding and mutual respect among members of the deaf community, the professionals involved with cochlear implantation, and the community at large through an exchange of knowledge about cochlear implants and deaf culture.
