Venezuela Aims to Start-up GTL Plant by 2004

Petroleos de Venezuela SA (PDVSA) plans to start-up a 15,000 b/d gas-to- liquids (GTL) plant by 2004, probably at its Jose industrial complex where existing infrastructure and favorable synergies with nearby petrochemical, refining, power and liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects are seen.

"PDVSA Gas is currently in the process of analyzing the technical and economic conditions required for a GTL project in eastern Venezuela that would produce some 15,000 b/d of products while consuming around 150 million standard cubic feet/day" of natural gas, the company explains in a new report.
