Evaluation of Botanicals and Dietary Supplements Therapy in Cancer Patients1
The use of dietary supplements in the United States has increased significantly since 1994 when Congress passed the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act, which specifies the role of the U.S. FDA in regulating dietary supplements (DSHEA 1994). The act led to the establishment of the Office of Dietary Supplements at the NIH as well as the Presidential Commission on Dietary Supplements Labeling.
